I never finish anything

It occurred to me the other day that I never seem to finish anything. It's my biggest flaw.

I looked back over my education and realised this happened over and over. I completed very few of my DT projects, including my GCSE project. I failed to complete my A-Level Computing project to an adequate standard and had to redo it after I left college. My entire degree suffered because my final year project was naff.

I've started a mobile app for a charity back when I was unemployed. Should've been finished by the summer, still unfinished.

I've been meaning to redo my personal website. It's seriously poor for someone who does websites for a living. Not even started that one.

I keep saying that I'll put a media PC in at home, that I'll convert our existing old PC into a server, that I'll scan in all our documents that aren't vital to keep and shred them; all still not done.

Worse still, I said I'd read the Bible in a year. I started 1st January and, according to YouVersion.com, I'll be finished 1st July next year. Yep, that's right. Year nearly over and I'm not even half way.

I have a brain full of ideas most of which that I never get started and the rest never get finished.

I don't really know what sharing this will do, but hopefully it's the start of me working out some ways to get some things finished.

BTW. It's never been a problem with work, I always get my stuff finished. Weird, huh?

Body Confidence

OK, so it's probably not cool to admit that I watch "How To Look Good Naked" (or that I actually enjoy it), but we'll ignore that point for a couple of minutes.

I want to promote the Body Confidence petition that they're currently running. They want the government to agree to putting Body Confidence on the national curriculum for girls AND BOYS!

Boys are equally affected by low body confidence as girls. For boys, they're "supposed" to be slim and toned, even muscular. For girls, they're "supposed" to be slim and curvaceous. The media puts these false images of perfection in front of us and makes us believe that we're not good enough! It's not on! Let's teach our children that they ARE beautiful!

All that's fine, but here's my main reason for posting this. A woman's body confidence affects us men too! When you watch this program you hear about men who have not seen their wives naked for years, some have NEVER seen their wives naked!! If we could make it so our wives had more body confidence now thanks to something in school before we even met them, wouldn't we?

This nations children need your help! They are surrounded by voices telling them they are not good enough and what's more they pass that message onto their friends without realising. Man, woman or child, please add your name to the petition: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/bodyconfidence/

Say goodbye to "Pick Your Own"...

The idiots of this land have done it again. Taken away something beautiful just because they can't look where they're walking.
There won't be as many Pick Your Own places any more, because the Health and Safety inspectors are saying they're too dangerous and demanding a lot of expensive "improvements", on top of that Insurance companies are pushing up their premiums. Why? Because some stupid woman is suing some Pick Your Own farm because she fell over.
Did she not know she was on a farm? Did she not look where she was going? Did she not enjoy the opportunity to have strawberries so fresh because you have just taken them from the plant?
People don't seem to understand the damage they do by suing someone else, they just think about themselves and how they can make some money out of an accident. Well because of this one woman, a British summer-time institution is slipping away.
See this BBC article for more information: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/8082238.stm
Goodbye "Pick Your Own" and thanks for all the fruit!

Whats the obsession with skinny?

I've just seen an advert for Heat or some trash like that, moaning about Charlotte Church being a normal sized woman. Oh no, she's just given birth and she's not trying to kill herself by being stick thin.

What is the obsession with disgustingly thin women? Why are the media constantly trying to kill young girls? Let's be blunt, the media say thin is good, the girls don't eat and they die. It's horrible and upsetting and I can't believe it's allowed, but I guess that's the cost of free press.

Get over it people. The average British woman is size 16 or something... not -14...

Mens Fashion

OK. Is it just me, or has modern men's fashion just gone totally weird?

I got a H&M gift card for Christmas, and I've got a few quid left on a TOPMAN card from ages ago. So today me and Lucy went looking for clothes.

So, there's really girly cardigans. There's handbags. There's feminine accessories. There's even "skinny jeans". WHAT ON EARTH?

So we went to Burton (where my TOPMAN card will also work) and they had a shirt which looks like a woman's blouse (minus the space for certain womanly features).

I just want normal MANs clothes. I'm not an emo, I'm not a goth, I'm not a metrosexual. Where are the clothes for me?

The world's going to pot, it really is.

Here endeth the rant.
